Takaungu Polytechnic Farmers Group

Promoting sustainable agriculture, practical skills development, and food security through community-based farming initiatives.

Project Overview

The Takaungu Polytechnic Farmers Group is a community-driven agricultural initiative supported by FarmCom Conservation CBO in Kilifi County. The project brings together farmers and trainees from Takaungu Polytechnic to promote sustainable farming practices, enhance agricultural skills, and strengthen local food production systems.

Community Impact

The project enhances food security and income generation by equipping farmers with practical agricultural knowledge and access to improved farming techniques. Participants benefit from hands-on training that improves crop yields while conserving soil and water resources. The initiative also empowers youth by linking agricultural education with real-life farming activities.

Key Activities

FarmCom Conservation CBO supports the group through training on climate-smart agriculture, soil fertility management, water conservation, and environmentally friendly pest control. Demonstration farms are used as learning centers where farmers and students apply sustainable practices that promote long-term productivity and environmental stewardship.
